Science Fiction, Fantasy and Worlds Beyond

On Sunday Sep. 11th at 7pm, the Italian writer Francesco Verso will take part to the 7th EU-China International Literary Festival. Francesco Verso will ingage in a conversation with author Hao Jingfang, moderated by science-fiction expert Zhang Fan.

The Festival features a series of literary discussions, presentations and masterclasses in September 2022 with leading literary talent from across Europe and China.

The 7th instalment of the Festival will dive into the hugely absorbing worlds of science fiction and fantasy.

European and Chinese writers will come together to embrace the core theme of: "Explore·Imagine·Inspire – Science Fiction, Fantasy and Worlds Beyond" in the literary landscape, discuss their work, their creative ideas and the world that inspires them.

 

Francesco Verso (Bologna, 1973) is a multiple-award Science Fiction writer and editor (3 Europa Awards for Best Author, Best Editor and Best Work of Fiction for Futurespotting, 2 Urania Awards for Best Novel for e-Doll and Bloodbusters, 1 Golden Dragon Award for the promotion of International SF, 2 Italy Awards for Best Editor and Best Novel, Livido). He has published: Antidoti umani, e-Doll, Nexhuman, Bloodbusters and I camminatori (made of The Pulldogs and No/Mad/Land). Nexhuman and Bloodbusters – translated in English by Sally McCorry and in Chinese by Zhang Fan and Hu Shaoyan – have been published in the US by Apex Books, in the UK by Luna press, and in China by Bofeng Culture. He also works as editor and publisher of Future Fiction, a multicultural project dedicated to scouting and publishing the best World Science Fiction in translation from more than 35 countries and 13 languages with authors like Ian McDonald, Ken Liu, Liu Cixin, Vandana Singh, Chen Qiufan, and others. From 2019 he's the Honorary Director of the Fishing Fortress SF Academy of Chongqing and a literary agent of Future Wave: this agency is specialized in the import/export of Science Fiction material copyright from/to China.
