18th September 2024

Marco Polo has connected the Earstern and the Western worlds since the Middle Ages. The tale of his journeys and the nature of his character have inspired scholars, writers and travelers, significantly contributing to Europe’s understanding of China and the Far East during his time, thus leaving a lasting impact on both cultures.
This year is dedicated to Marco Polo and this conference is part of the celebrations of his legacy aiming at fostering a space for academic dialogue.
The speakers come from many of the countries where Marco Polo travelled and the audience will have the opportunity to listen to keynote speeches, appreciate sessions based on different themes, watch a documentary and participate in a final discussion.
The conference is organized by Goran Đurđević, Monica Bezzegato and the Italian Cultural Institute in Beijing.
