PORCELAIN WAR

February 24, 2026 – 19:00

Italian Cultural Institute in Beijing, Sanlitun Dongerjie n.2

On the fourth anniversary of Russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine, the Italian Cultural Institute in Beijing, in collaboration with partners from the wider European Union community in China, will present a special screening of Porcelain War. This initiative reaffirms our shared solidarity with Ukraine and underscores our steadfast commitment to the principles of resilience, human dignity, and peace.

The documentary follows three Ukrainian artists — Slava Leontyev, Anya Stasenko and Andrey Stefanov — who remain in their homeland as war unfolds, continuing to create, document, and defend what they cherish. Their story powerfully illustrates that while destruction may threaten cities and lives, it cannot extinguish culture, identity, or the human spirit.

Winner of the 2024 Sundance Grand Jury Prize for U.S. Documentary, Porcelain War has been internationally acclaimed for its artistic depth and humanity. Through this commemorative screening, the EU community stands united in support of Ukraine, highlighting the enduring strength of culture as a bridge between peoples.

We warmly invite you to join us for an evening of reflection, dialogue, and solidarity.
