Violin and Piano Duo

 

Formed in Turin in 2020 under the guidance of Antonio Valentino, the duo Letizia Gullino and Luca Troncarelli has rapidly established itself as one of the most exciting chamber ensembles of the younger generation on the Italian and international scene. United by a strong artistic identity and a deep musical understanding, the duo stands out for the intensity of its interpretations, stylistic refinement, and careful attention to sound.

The ensemble has performed for major institutions and concert season series including the Unione Musicale di Torino, the Italian Institute of Culture in Tokyo, Lingotto Musica, Amici della Musica di Padova, the Accademia Filarmonica Romana, the Società Umanitaria of Milan, Musikàmera in Venice, the Friends of the RAI National Symphony Orchestra, and the “Musei Aperti” series at the Vatican Museums.

In 2022, the duo won the National Arts Prize in the Chamber Music category and the prestigious “Giovanni Guglielmo” Award. In 2025, they received the Casa Musicale del Rio Prize and were named Best Italian Ensemble at the Nicosia Award.

Violinist Letizia Gullino, described by Salvatore Accardo as “a violinist with a warm and powerful sound, brilliant technique, and pure, captivating musicality”, performs regularly as both soloist and chamber musician in Italy and abroad. The 2025–26 season marks her return to the Edinburgh International Festival and her debut at the Italian Institute of Culture in Tokyo, the Paganini Genova Festival, and the Southbank Centre in London. She graduated with highest honors, distinction and special mention from the Conservatory of Turin and is currently pursuing advanced studies with Silvia Marcovici at the Accademia Perosi in Biella.

Pianist Luca Troncarelli, who also graduated with highest honors, distinction, and special mention from the Conservatory of Turin, performs regularly for major institutions and has appeared on Italiannational television(RAI). He has attended masterclasses with Joaquín Achúcarro, AkikoEbi, Benedetto Lupo, Andrea Lucchesini, and Paul Lewis and is currently pursuing advanced studies with Gabriele Carcano. A prizewinner in numerous national and international piano competitions, he combines an active solo career with a strong commitment to chamber music. Alongside his musical career, he holds a degree in Mathematics from the University of Turin.

Together, Letizia Gullino and Luca Troncarelli offer performances of striking emotional impact, in which virtuosity, expressive depth, and energy merge into a deeply engaging musical experience.
