Focus on Italian Early Music (III): Concerto Barocco “In Gusto Italiano”

We are delighted to announce the IIIrd concert of the “Focus on Italian Early Music”, co-organized by the Italian Institute of Culture of the Italian Embassy and the Central Conservatory of Music, in the framework of the “2019 CCOM Baroque Music Festival and Pipe Organ Week”.

Claudio Brizi

Claudio Brizi is a well-known organ and harpsichord player, as well as a scholarly expert on organs and ancient keyboard instruments. His research has brought him a worldwide reputation as an authority in the field of the so-called Hybrid Keyboard instruments. He has performed over 2,000 concerts for well-known musical institutions around the world. His discography, some 100 CDs, ranges from the late Renaissance to the present day. The specialized music media has conferred him many awards, among which is the recent “Japan Audiophile Prize”. As a chamber music artist, he has collaborated with numerous high-lever singers and instrumentalists.

Shen Fanxiu

Organist, Harpsichordist, Professor of the Central Conservatory of Music (CCOM), China. Founder and Artistic Director of BeijingInternational Baroque Music Festival and Organ Music Week. Artistic Director ofthe Faint Scent Baroque Ensemble. Director of China Federation of Chamber Musician. M.A. from University of Music and Performing Artsin Vienna, studied harpsichord with Prof. Gordon Murray (1948-2017) and organ with Prof. Dr. Rudolf Scholz (1933-2012). She offered the courses of “Performance of Organ”and “Performance of Harpsichord”, “Harpsichord and Orchestra” of Baroque Chamber Music under CCOM and in China for the first time also. As a first performer of the organ in the National Center of the Performing Arts (NCPA), she has presented more than 40 recitals of organ in NCPA. She has also presented the recitals and concerts of organ and harpsichord in domestic cities and also in abroad. A Jury of Harpsichord Competition Gianni Gambi. Sheng Yuan

Sheng Yuan has gained international recognition through his extensive performances in more than twenty countries. His understanding and command of harpsichord and early pianos has also generated highest acclaim. He has performed the music of J.S. Bach and other Baroque composers on harpsichord regularly in recent years. Mr. Sheng records under Piano Classics label. His four CD recordings of works by Bach and a Three-Disc Set of works by Chopin performed on an 1845 Pleyel piano have been released internationally. In the next ten years Mr. Sheng will record and release all major works for keyboard by J.S. Bach and complete works of Chopin. Sheng Yuan is a professor of piano at the Beijing Central Conservatory of Music.

Wang Tong

Wang Tong, now under postgraduate study at Central Conservatory of Music. and learned after Professor Liang Danan.

Meng Zhongnan

Meng Zhongnan, an in-service graduate student of the Central Conservatory of Music, under Professor Tong Weidong, member of the NCPA Philharmonic Orchestra.

Liu Shuchen

Liu Shuchen was admitted to the Central Conservatory of Music in 2018 as a graduate student under Professor Wang Shaowu. He was deputy chief of the China Youth Symphony Orchestra.

Zhou Yanmeng

Zhou Yanmeng is a graduate student at the Central Conservatory of Music, under Professor Zhu Mu. Former Deputy Chief Cello of China Youth Symphony Orchestra.

Qu Rongda

Studying for Master’s degree in Central Conservatory of Music. From 2017 to 2018, served as double bassplayer of the Symphony Orchestra of the Central Conservatory of Music. In 2013, he was admitted to Central Conservatory of Music and studied underprofessor Song Yi. In 2019, he continued to study for a master’s degree with the first place in his major.

Yang Yi

Yang Yi, graduate student of the Central Conservatory of Music, flute principal of the Graduate Symphony Orchestra of the Central Conservatory of Music. Under Professor Han Guoliang, doctoral Supervisor of the Central Conservatory of Music. In August 2016, he won the third place in the flute professional youth group of the first Asian wind music competition.
