One year after the death of Ennio Morricone, the great Italian composer known and loved by audiences around the world for his wonderful soundtracks of over 100 cinema classics, the Embassy of Italy and the Italian Institute of Culture in Beijing, in collaboration with the Forbidden City Concert Hall, have organized a commemorative concert with the participation of some among the most influential Chinese contemporary musicians of folk music, world music, rock, jazz, indi, etc.
The concert, conceived by the well-known radio host and DJ Youdai, will reinterpret, in the diversified styles of the Chinese artists, 20 pieces from some of the most famous soundtracks by Ennio Morricone.
A tribute to the beauty and unicity of the music of the great Maestro, to his universal language that unites different cultures and peoples and an inspiring invitation to the creative dialogue between artists and musical genres.

The wonderful, touching and familiar melodies of movies such as Cinema Paradiso, Once upon a time in America, 1900: The Pianist on the Ocean, Malena and many others will be performed on piano, violin, cello, saxophone, clarinet, guqin, dulcimer, guitar, harmonica and percussion and sung by interpreters of bel canto, in a feast of delightful and romantic notes dedicated to the renowned Maestro.
